Clinical Programs & Services
Patients at Moffitt Cancer Center are evaluated and treated through clinical programs. Most oncology programs focus on specific organ or disease types and are made up of an interdisciplinary team of specialists. Teams may include surgeons, medical oncologists or hematologists, pathologists, radiologists and radiation oncologists. This provides every patient an approach of comprehensive and coordinated care.
Other clinical programs at our cancer treatment center provide a specialized focus in their patient care:
- The Senior Adult Oncology Program is unique with its focus on cancer care for adults age 70 and older. In addition to cancer care, this team addresses the medical and functional issues that often accompany the treatment and management of cancer in this age group.
- The Psychosocial and Palliative Care Program complements the clinical programs with its emphasis on the emotional, social, spiritual and physical needs of people affected by cancer.
- Radiation Oncology is a focused treatment modality for many cancers; its physician specialists complement each of the disease-focused programs by providing consultation and expertise in this treatment option.
Moffitt cancer hospital's clinical services also include: Anesthesiology, Pathology, Radiology and Surgery Services. Pathology Services also provides consultation services for patients and physicians outside of Moffitt.
